Introducing the Goji SCB Servo Centering Board

It has been quite some time since the team’s last post. But thankfully, we’re back. And to add to the good news, ARI Robotics has just developed and produced the first line of our sellable products: the Goji SCB. We’re gradually revealing more products in the future, but for now, here is some pictures and insight on the board itself:

“Introducing the Goji SCB from ARI Robotics. Designed as a servo centering board, it is readily available to the needs of roboticists, hobbyists and electronics engineers alike. A simple process of plugging in a desired quantity of servo motors in any of the 24 available ports and giving power to the 2.5mm jack, making adjustments to servos has never been easier. In seconds, up to 24 servos can all be centered to exactly 90 degrees; no more, no less. With the Goji SCB, it’s all about power.”

Specifications:

Hardware:

  • Atmel Attiny45 Chip as Programmer on board
  • 72 pins equivalent to 24 available servo ports (2 rows)
  • Power status Led (Blinking also indicates frequency of oscillation on board)
  • 2.5 mm DC/AC Power Jack

 

 

               Servo compatibility:

  • The Goji SCB is compatible with both micro and standard sized servos that can be powered at 5v.

 

Voltage Intake:

  • Board can be powered up to 5-9v DC/AC recommended.

-Use power moderately. Any voltage level above 12 v DC/AC can short out the board.

Introducing: Project SIHRO

Project SIHRO (Socially Interactive Humanoid RObot) is a bipedal humanoid robot meant to interact and converse with a series of people in a friendly way. It is also capable of following objects, and motion and color tracking, as well as speech synthesis. Like most humanoids, it has a standard camera to do so, and has rgb led lights as  eye simulators. As of now, SIHRO is currently in progress, and will be done soon.
